Rabbit polyclonal to KLF4.Kruppel-like factor 4 (gut) (KLF4) is a transcription factor which acts as an activator and a repressor.KLF4 is known to bind to the CACCC core sequence. It binds to multiple sites in the 5-flanking regionof its own gene and can activate its own transcription. It is required for establishing the barrierfunction of the skin and for postnatal maturation and maintenance of the ocular surface. It plays a rolein the differentiation of epithelial cells and may function in skeletal and kidney development.
