BDNF  

Purity of recombinant human BDNF was determined by SDS- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The protein was resolved in an SDS- polyacrylamide gel in reducing and non-reducing conditions and stained using Coomassie blue.

BDNF stimulates dose-dependent proliferation of the SH-SY5Y Neuroblastoma cell line. SH-SY5Y cells were treated with increasing concentrations of recombinant BDNF for 72 hours after an initial 5 day incubation with 10 μM retinoic acid. Viable cell number was quantitatively assessed by PrestoBlueR Cell Viability Reagent. The EC50 was determined using a 4-parameter non-linear regression model. The EC50 range is < 100 ng/mL.
