| 概要 |
α-1 Giardin is a structural protein of Giardia lamblia, a flagellated protozoan parasite that colonizes the small intestine and causes giardiasis in humans. α-1 Giardin belongs to the annexin superfamily and is localized mainly in the cytoskeleton, particularly associated with the ventral disc - a structure essential for the parasite's attachment to host intestinal epithelium. Due to its strong expression and specific localization, α-1 Giardin is commonly used as a diagnostic marker in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays to identify Giardia lamblia in clinical and research samples.
