Clinically, tacrolimus is used to treat atopic dermatitis and conjunctivitis. In vivo, tacrolimus inhibits synthesis of type I collagen polypeptides and the interaction between LARP6 and FKBP3, suppressing the development of alcohol-induced liver fibrosis.
